My Early Life and Education
When I was little I was very interested in music, reading, and history. I was close to my mother and often asked her for political and personal advice. I was the first president after 1897 not to earn a college degree. My poor eyesight caused me not to be able to apply for a degree at West Point, my childhood dream and finances caused me not be be able to apply to other colleges. Even though I did not earn a college degree I did get two years of credit towards a law degree.-Alice
